Kevin Dooley is an award-winning Wildlife and Wedding Photographer who grew up in Placitas, New Mexico. At the age of 18, he enlisted into the Navy and served on an aircraft carrier. After he completed his service he returned to New Mexico and opened his own photography studio in Albuquerque which is still running 37 years later. His passion for wildlife photography and Africa, led him to his safari adventures and he eventually opened Idube Photo Safaris. Kevin is a certified FGASA (Field Guide Association of South Africa), Wildlife Guide, a PPA Master Photographer and takes guests from all over the world on amazing photographic safaris in Africa, Alaska, the Amazon, India and the Antarctic. He also teaches wildlife and wedding photography workshops

The soft sounds of wild Africa will sing you to sleep whilst your mornings will be greeted with birds waking up a new day in this paradise.  Watch the Giraffe as they walk into the sunset, the Elephant mother helping her newborn baby learn to drink water. See herds of African Antelope grazing on the plains lined with beautiful umbrella Acacia thorn trees.  This is Africa! Your Daily Safari Itinerery

Day 1  Nairobi

At Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by a representative and transferred to your accommodation. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure to get acclimated for your upcoming safari adventure.

Day 2   Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, our adventures in the bush begin in the spectacular Amboseli National Park. Romantically situated in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli is famous for its tremendous variety of big game. We will arrive just in time for lunch.

Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from lions, cheetah, wildebeest, and giraffes to baboons.

Travel time: 4hrs – 5hrs

Evening game drive: 3:00pm to 6:45pm

Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 3   Amboseli National Park

Today you will enjoy a full day game drive at the private wildlife conservancy, Kitirua, 30,000 acres. Away from the busy eastern side of Amboseli, and with its own private conservancy, guests experience a wild and private.

Day 4   Amboseli National Park

Today starts with breakfast and a morning game drive in the park. Amboseli offers opportunities for viewing large herds of elephants and nearly every vista within the park is framed by majestic Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. 

A visit to Observation Hill allows for an overall view of the whole park, especially the swamp which hosts many elephants, buffaloes, hippos, a variety of waterfowl like pelican and Egyptian goose.  

After lunch, we continue with an afternoon game drive or other optional activities offered by the camp.

Day 5   Mara North Conservancy Park

This morning you will be transferred to the Airstrip for your flight to Nairobi Wilson airport where you will connect with your flight over the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve. This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest’s migration and is home of the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino. Lunch at our Lodge and relax before departing for the afternoon game run. 

The Mara Game Reserve-one of the greatest wildernesses of the world. Large mammals are varied, and easy to see. Residents among the Parks are: Masai Giraffe, Buffalo, Eland and thousands of plain game including Impala, Zebra, Topi, both Thomson’s and grants Gazelles. 

Mara Evening game drive: 3:30 pm to 6:45 pm 

 Lunch: between 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm 

Dinner: between 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm

Day 6   Mara North Conservancy Park

The search for great predators and vibrant wildlife continues today during extensive morning and afternoon game drives. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. When the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra arrives, generally between August and early November, the population enlarges by almost 2 million. This provides a great food source for predators such as lion, leopard, and hyena.

 

Day 7   Mara North Conservancy Park

 
Morning game drive back to the camp for full breakfast followed by check out, early Lunch then depart from Mara North to the Mara National Conservancy with game drive en route (about an hour drive). check-in at the Mara base camp  followed by 4pm evening game drive.

Day 8  Mara North Conservancy Park

 
Today you will continue with a full day game run. Along with the big cats, the Mara offers excellent photo opportunities for many other mammals & birds including Elephant, Buffalo, Thompson’s Gazelle, Topi, Coke’s Hartebeest, Zebra, Giraffe, Impala, Grant’s Gazelle, Bat Eared Fox and of course Wildebeest !

Day 9  Nairobi

 

Today will come to an end of the safari with the last morning game drive. Your schedule flight from the Mara back to Nairobi takes off at 11:00 am and its 45 minutes duration. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Ole Sereni hotel where the trip will end officially. 

Morning Game drive– 6:15 am to 9.00 am

Breakfast: 9.30 am

Transfer to the airstrip at 10:30 for bush flight to Nairobi.
